Diameter Health Announces Solution to Assist with NCQA Data Aggregator Validation

The Company’s NCQA-Certified Technology Reduces Risk and Cost for Data Aggregators and Health Information Exchanges Seeking Validation

Farmington, CT—March 2, 2022— Diameter Health, a data interoperability leader and trusted source for organizations seeking to realize the greatest value from clinical data, today announced the availability of its solution for health information exchanges (HIEs) and data aggregators that are undertaking the rigorous National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Data Aggregator Validation program. The offering includes Diameter Health’s certified technology and expert guidance and is designed to reduce the time, risks and costs associated with the validation process. By selecting Diameter Health as their certified data partner, organizations benefit from technology that has already been certified by NCQA.

NCQA established the Data Aggregator Validation program to ensure that data used in Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®)[1] reporting is accurate and trustworthy. Validated digital clinical data streams can be used as standard supplemental data for HEDIS reporting, and do not require primary source validation as part of the audit process. This reduces the burden on aggregators and health plans and increases the value of digital clinical data by making it easier to exchange across healthcare stakeholders.

The Data Aggregator Validation program evaluates ingestion and transformation policies and processes, as well as output data integrity. It also requires that data be output in a Continuity of Care (CCD) format that adheres to the NCQA’s implementation guide. The program takes up to 18 weeks to complete. Diameter Health has partnered with leading HIEs including KONZA and HealtheConnections to help them successfully validate data streams.

“The NCQA Data Aggregator Validation program provides assurance that data provided by HIEs such as KONZA represents the highest standard in the market in terms of standardization, normalization and deduplication,” said Laura McCrary, Ed.D, President and CEO of KONZA. “KONZA is proud to be among a small group of HIEs that have successfully completed the program, and we intend to continue to enhance the value of our data deliverables by partnering with Diameter Health as our certified data partner.”

Rob Hack, President, and CEO, HealtheConnections, said, “The NCQA Data Aggregator Validation program is important to HealtheConnections and our participants because it provides real value in support of ongoing work in quality measurement. Our partnership with Diameter Health was essential to successfully validate multiple data streams. Together, our continued commitment to data quality, governance and processes will allow us to expand beyond the realm of quality measurement with the most accurate and trustworthy data.”

The technology components of the Diameter Health solution for Data Aggregator Validation are unique because they are built using the company’s Fusion technology for Upcycling Data™. Upcycling is a comprehensive data quality improvement process that normalizes and enriches data while maintaining clinical intent and data provenance. HIEs and aggregators that use Fusion and opt for the solution can deliver a higher quality and quantity of HEDIS-specific data elements in addition to NCQA-conformant CCD output.

“Data quality and trustworthiness are foundational to our business,” said JoEllen Komanetsky, Vice President of Product at Diameter Health. “We are excited to be able to offer our certified technology for Data Aggregator Validation to HIEs and data aggregators to increase their efficiency in obtaining validation.”
