FHIR, Managing the Burn

Watch our webibar replay

July 1st is here, and the FHIR (Fast Healthcare Information Resources) standard is a CMS requirement for clinical data interoperability. This is an exciting milestone and opens up potential new frontiers in healthcare interoperability.

However, as with any new standard, FHIR presents known implementation challenges. For example, at HL7 FHIR DevDays 2021, Grahame Grieves, FHIR Product Director at HL7, provided an excellent overview of “referential integrity” in FHIR (referential integrity pertains to the accuracy and consistency of data within a relationship).

While referential integrity is important, it is just one aspect of data integrity necessary to make FHIR actionable. Architects, Data Scientists and even business process owners need also be aware of semantic, traceability, and duplication issues that lurk in clinical data if we want this new standard to be successful.

In this complimentary webinar, Sam Schifman, Chief Architect at Diameter Health, will discuss how Diameter Health addressed these challenges when providing industry leading conversion from legacy data formats. Designed for those responsible for implementing the FHIR standard, as well as those whose business processes depend on FHIR, he will present a comprehensive approach to making FHIR actionable.
