Data Architect

As a Data Architect you will empower the development team to make excellent decisions around data, oversee the design of projects to process and deliver data in increasingly useful ways, and research into future thinking about how we can better provide data.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our distributed team throughout the US as a Data Architect. You would work closely with our Chief Architect, CTO, and highly skilled development team to deliver data at scale that will have a meaningful impact on the future of healthcare.

You will be responsible for paving the future of how clinical data is made actionable for our customers. Your duties will include empowering the development team to make excellent decisions around data, overseeing the design of projects to process and deliver data in increasingly useful ways, and research into future thinking about how we can better provide data. This means that the ideal candidate will have significant technical skills, but also have a servant-leader mindset around enabling those around them. This ideal candidate will have experience with cutting-edge data analytics and warehousing, also be good at solving complex problems, and understand how to move those ideas forward with a team. Job Summary: As a Data Architect at Diameter Health your central responsibility will be to develop, optimize, and oversee our company’s conceptual and logical data systems. You should know how to examine data system requirements and implement migration models. The ideal candidate will also have proven experience in data analysis and management, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Your duties will include designing data transformations for NoSQL data for the purposes of reporting and analytics, as well as creating data models that will support efficient and performant queries of our data. You’ll be empowered and encouraged to bring forth new ideas that further empower the product and the team while showcasing your passion for data best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the development team is empowered to make good, standards-based decisions around data
  • Design effective systems for
    • transforming data at scale from NoSQL to models that support analytics
    • streaming at scale to allow customers near real-time access to actionable data
    • supporting Enterprise Data Architectures, including integrating data into customer Datalakes
    • inbounding multi-source data at scale
  • Keep the company abreast of the latest tools and trends in big data and analytics in healthcare
  • Chart a course towards the future of how Diameter Health can achieve its goal of providing the best quality data in the most actionable forms
  • Work effectively with the development team to drive key outcomes by engaging the team in design work and coaching other teammates
  • Assist in clearly communicating Diameter Health’s solution internally to enable sales and support to be effective

Required knowledge and skills:

  • Deep experience with data transformation and storage
  • Proven experience delivering big data projects at scale
  • Working knowledge of RDBMS (SQL), NoSQL, Graph DB, and Data Lakes
  • Experience with AWS and/or other cloud computing platforms
  • 15+ years of hands-on experience in delivering software
  • 5+ years’ experience in a role oriented towards data analytics or data warehousing
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and teamwork skills

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:

  • Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, Flink, or other big data platform
  • Background in Machine Learning and/or Data Analytics
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools
  • Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL
  • Working knowledge of standards in healthcare data, like C-CDA, FHIR, OMOP, …
  • Experience in healthcare IT
  • Team leadership or people management experience
