Riding for a Cure: Diameter Health’s Pan-Mass Challenge Team

On August 7-8, 2021, the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) community came together to raise funds for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a world leader in adult and pediatric cancer treatment and research. The PMC brings together thousands of riders and volunteers from 43 states and 12 countries, all with a common goal- to support finding a cure for cancer. A pioneer in the athletic fundraising arena, the PMC has raised nearly $820M since its kickoff in 1980.

In fact, PMC is said to be Dana-Farber’s single largest supporter and is 64 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue.

My daughter, Rachael, my wife, Pam, and I are long time participants in the PMC. This was my 14th, Rachael’s 6th, and Pam’s 4th year participating in the PMC. We were inspired to field a team of cyclists following my seven-year span riding as one of 1,000 plus “Living Proof” riders and volunteers who have battled cancer. Team Diameter included my family as well as first time riders Harvard Pan and Amy Krane, with support from many others in the Diameter Health family, as well as Stephen Hau, CEO of Newfire Global Partners.

I am beyond proud of the Diameter Health team for taking on the PMC and tackling a 100-mile route in one day. It was a long day in the saddle, but we are all glad we did it. We have raised over $30,000 this year, with every penny going directly to Dana Farber and the Jimmy Fund.

Diameter Health looks forward to our continued PMC support to help Dana-Farber lead the charge against cancer through research and development to advance the fight against cancer.
